Typed Document Signed: "Robert Anderson" in black felt tip. 8¼x10½. Two pages. Date: May 30, 1965. Place: Haynes Bedfordshire, England (Handwriting). Addressed to: Joel productions Inc. Douglas & Lewis Productions. John Frankenheimer Productions. In full: "Dear Sirs, This will confirm our arrangement as follows in connection with the motion picture production tentatively entitled "Grand Prix". 1). You will have the exclusive right to film and otherwise record myself and my participation in Grand Prix and other car races in the years 1965 & 1966 and to interpolate the results in your film in any manner you may deem fit. 2). You shall have the exclusive and unlimited right to exhibit, exploit, transmit and reproduce (and to license others to do so0 throughout the world and in all media my appearances in your film and to use my name, likeness and voice in connection with the film and the advertising thereof. 3). It is understood that all rights and services to which you are entitled herein are exclusive for the years 1965 & 1966 in the sense that I will not grant similar rights to any other producer of a full length feature motion picture and I will not let my name and/or image appear in any other full length feature motion picture. I shall be entirely free to allow my name, voice and likeness to be used for television, press reports, non-theatrical short films, documentaries, publicity for products and services and other activities not having any connection with the production of a full length feature motion picture. 4) As full consideration for the exclusive rights and services provided herein you shall pay me the following: (I) The sum of Dollars Five Hundred ($500) or the signature of the agreement. (II) the sum of Dollars Five Hundred ($500) at the latest on July 25, 1965. 5) I hereby waive any and all claims against the film, its producers or distributors throughout the world, other than my entitlement to the above described compensation. 6) I hereby grant and assign to you any rights needed to proceed against third parties in respect of any infringement of the exclusive rights to you hereunder. 7) I hereby warrant that I am free to enter into this agreement and I am not subject to any obligations to third parties preventing me from entering this agreement. 8) This agreement shall enure for the benefit of you, your successors and assigns. Robert Hugh Fearon "Bob" Anderson (1931-1967) was a British Grand Prix motorcycle road racer and racing driver who competed in Grand Prix motorcycle racing from 1958 to 1960, and in Formula One from 1963 to the 1967 seasons. Anderson was also a two-time winner of the North West 200 race in Northern Ireland. In 1967 he had an accident while testing at Silverstone, in which he slid off the track in wet conditions and hit a marshal's post. He suffered serious chest and neck injuries and died later in Northampton General Hospital. Toned. Lightly soiled and creased. Staple marks at upper left margin.
