Captioned: "Treasury Secretary Anderson". Anderson (1910-1989) was active in Texas state government in the 1930s, then focused on private business interests (ranching and oil) in the 1940s. Brought to Washington by President Eisenhower, he served as Secretary of the Navy (1953-1954), Deputy Secretary of Defense (1954-1955) and Secretary of the Treasury (1957-1961). Very influential in the latter post, he is given much credit for the fiscal conservatism of Ike's second term. President Johnson entrusted Anderson with diplomatic missions in the 1960s. Fold creases not at signature. Lightly worn at edges. File holes at left margin. Mailing label remnant at lower left not near signature. Otherwise, fine condition.
