1974, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Robert B. Parker (1932-2010), a devoted fan of
mystery writer Raymond Chandler, had set out to create another Philip Marlowe
with Spenser, his hard-boiled Boston detective. Spenser, the hero of
24 of Parker's novels, came to typify the modern fictional private eye and
was brought to life by Robert Urich in TV's Spenser For Hire. Slightly
creased and rippled. Lightly soiled on verso. Fine condition.
