The Oscar winning director pens his schedule on stationery from the Bellemont Motor Hotel, Baton Rouge.
Autograph note signed: "Robert Benson" 1 page, 5½x8½. Stationery for the Bellemont Motor Hotel, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He writes various notes for his schedule, in part: "2:00 out of Belmont/2:00 In/2:00 out of Punice Conte/2:00 In Belmont--8 pcs Luggage/8:00 Hotel". Robert Benton (1932-2025) is an American film director and writer, winner of three Oscars for his films Kramer vs. Kramer (Best Director, Best Writing) and Places in the Heart (Best Writing). He's also known for his biography on Paul Newman, Nobody's Fool (1994) and for writing the screenplay for Superman (1978).  Originally from Waxahachie, Texas, Benton got into major motion pictures in the late 1960's when he wrote the screenplay for Bonnie and Clyde (1967).  Throughout his career he's written, directed and produced over 25 films, including The Late Show (1977), The Human Stain (2003) and The Ice Harvest (2005).  He's won over 30 awards for his works, including the 2003 Chicago International Film Festival's Lifetime Achievement Award. Staple holes at top left corner. Slightly creased and toned. Light haloing around signature. Fine condition.
