Inscribed signature on a 4x3 card with a color magazine photo of him
attached
Inscribed Signature: "To Kayo/Robert Coote", 4¼x3 card with
color 1¼x1¾ magazine photo affixed to lower right corner. Pencil notes (unknown
hand) on verso. English stage and screen actor Robert Coote (1909-1982) was
usually cast by Hollywood as an aristocrat or British military type. He
played Sergeant Higgenbotham in Gunga Din (1939), and Aramis in The
Three Musketeers (1948). He interrupted his film career to serve as a
squadron leader in the Canadian Air Force in World War II. Coote originated
the role of Colonel Pickering in the original Broadway production of My Fair
Lady (1956). His last feature film appearance was as one of the critics
murdered by Vincent Price in Theatre of Blood (1973). He had a recurring
role in the TV detective series Nero Wolfe (1981). Fine
condition.
