ROBERT DE NIRO
Three-page contract with Warner Brothers for his appearance in the film Gold Lust (a
movie that was never made), signed by him twice as employ and employer of his
production company, Canal Productions
Document signed twice: "Robert DeNiro", 3 pages, 8½x11. Beverly Hills, California, 1989
August 24. Loan-out agreement whereby Canal Productions ("the Employer") offers Warner
Bros. Pictures the use of DeNiro ("the Employee") in a film to be titled Gold Lust. DeNiro
signs twice on page 3, once as employer and again as employee. Also signed by a representative
of the studio. Robert DeNiro received an Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor in
The Godfather - Part II (1974) and for Best Actor Oscar for Raging Bull (1980). Among
his other critically acclaimed films were Taxi Driver and The Deer Hunter (1978),
Awakenings (1990) and Cape Fear (1991), the latter three earning Oscar nominations.
DeNiro, perhaps the most powerful actor of his generation, successfully parodied his own
tough guy image in Analyze This (1999) and Meet the Parents (2000). Gold Lust would have
paired DeNiro with Dustin Hoffman, but the film was never made. DeNiro and
Hoffman did work together, in later films, Wag the Dog (1997) and Meet the Fockers
(2004). Filing holes at upper margin. Red "Executed" stamp at lower margin. Folds at staple -
upper left corner. PSA/DNA authentication sticker (D43989) affixed at lower right of
signature page. Fine condition.
