ROBERT DUVALL
Lovely letter from the award winning actor to a high school, thanking them for their invitation to their film festival and praises of his works: "You were very kind to write such glowing reviews of my past performances"
Typed letter signed: "Robert Duvall". 1p, 8½x11. No place, 1984 October 9. On his personal imprinted letterhead, to Debi Flores. In full: "I am sorry that I was not able to attend the 1984 Film Festival at Elmhurst High last month. I was nonetheless, very honored to learn from your letter that this year my work in film was selected as the subject of your tribute. You were very kind to write such glowing reviews of my past performances and so, it is with pleasure that I am enclosing the signed photo stills [not present] you requested for your Walk of Fame display. I hope that the movies I make in the future will continue to please the many friends I seem to have at Elmhurst High School." One of Hollywood's most popular and versatile actors, distinguished American leading and supporting actor Robert Duvall (b.1931) possesses a rare gift for totally immersing himself in his roles. Duvall's other acclaimed movies include To Kill a Mockingbird (1962), M*A*S*H (1970) and The Godfather I & II (1972, 1974). After several award nominations, he finally won an Oscar for Best Actor in Tender Mercies (1983). Having already played Eisenhower (1978-1979) and Stalin (1992) in TV specials, he portrays Robert E. Lee in the film Gods and Generals (2002). Light surface creases. Corners slightly worn and creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
