ROBERT KING, EARL OF KINGSTON VIThe 6th Earl of Kingston signs this slip of paper clipped from a letter Autograph Fragment Signed: “Bristol July nineteen 1827/ William Hartopp Esq./ Falcon dale / Lampeter/ Cardiganshire/ R. King” 4½x2¾ affixed to a 6¼x3 sheet of paper with a 1¾x2¼ printed biography of the title, Earl of Kingston. Robert King (1804-1869) was a member of the Irish peerage. He represented County Roscommon in Parliament and died in October 1869, just a month after he had succeeded the earldom. William Hartopp Hull, the addressee, was a Trustee of the Exmouth Benefit. Show-through of text written on verso to front. Paper containing signature is stained at corner (likely due to show-through of adhesive used to affix slip of paper). Toned. Paper to which signature clipping is affixed is irregularly shaped. Ink note from the collector below signature paper and printed bio. Otherwise, fine condition.
