On official letterhead to Mrs. Helen Neuhartt, c/o Ramsey Junior High School, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Accompanied by un-mailed, typed envelope to same addressee, with return address of Attorney General in upper left. In full: "Thank you very much for your note about the visit of the group from Ramsey Junior High School. I enjoyed meeting the students and am quite flattered by their appraisal. Sincerely." Robert F. KENNEDY made a name for himself as Chief Counsel of the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Improper Activities in Labor or Management Field (1957-1960) investigating such labor leaders as Jimmy Hoffa. He left the office to successfully manage his brother John's presidential campaign in 1960, and served as President Kennedy's attorney General (1961-1963) and as President Johnson's Attorney General (1963-1964). "Bobby" was elected U.S. Senator from New York in 1964, serving from 1965 until he was assassinated in Los Angeles in June 1968, just moments after declaring victory in the California presidential primary. Envelope neatly opened at top. Pinhole in upper left corners of letter and envelope. Fine condition.
