On official letterhead to Mrs. Helen Neuhartt, c/o Ramsey Junior High School, Minneapolis, Minnesota. KENNEDY made a name for himself as Chief Counsel of the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Improper Activities in Labor or Management Field (1957-1960) investigating such labor leaders as Jimmy Hoffa. "Bobby" was elected U.S. Senator from New York in 1964, serving from 1965 until he was assassinated in Los Angeles in June 1968, just moments after declaring victory in the California presidential primary.
