ROBERT F. KENNEDY. Scarce TLS: "Robert F. Kennedy" as U.S. Senator, 1p, 6x9. Washington, D.C., 1967 October 3. On his personal Senate stationery, the former Attorney General under Kennedy and Johnson (1961-1964) writes in the last year of his life to Leon Gutterman, President and Publisher of Wisdom, Beverly Hills, California. In full: "Thank you for your letter of August. I just wanted you to know how much I appreciated receiving the copy of 'The Wisdom of Sarnoff And The World of RCA.' You were most thoughtful to send it to me. Again, my thanks and best wishes to you." Five months later, Kennedy announced he was seeking the Democratic nomination for President. He was assassinated June 4, 1968, in Los Angeles after winning the California primary. Authentically signed letters of Kennedy from this period are scarce; most were signed by Autopen.
