In full: "I was deeply honored that the Home of Old Israel would see fit to present its annual award to me. However, because of a very difficult schedule, I was not able to arrange to be with them and had to write Mr. Jacob Singer, declining. Particularly in view of your interest, I am sorry I could not accept." Kennedy served as his brother's Attorney General from 1961-1963 continuing into LBJ's administration until 1964 when he resigned. He was Senator from New York from 1965 until his assassination in 1968 while he was running for the Democratic presidential nomination. Fine condition.
