Robert Floyd "Bob" Kennon (1902-1988) was the Democratic Governor of Louisiana from 1952-1956, failing to win a second nonconsecutive term in the 1963 Democratic primary. Known as a "good-government" reform governor, he had begun his political career at the age of 23, becoming the youngest mayor in the U.S. for a short time as Mayor of Minden, Louisiana. During his term as Mayor, Kennon was a Commander in the National Guard. He was a District Attorney for 11 years in the 26th Judicial District (beginning in 1930) and later a Justice on the state's Second Circuit Court of Appeal, his term being interrupted by service in WWII, before Kennon ran for Governor.
