Signature: "Robert F. Wagner", 5x3 card. Robert F. Wagner,
Sr. (1877-1953), a veteran New York legislator, served in the US Senate
(1927-1949), resigning due to ill health. An influential member of President
Roosevelt's "Brain Trust," particularly on labor issues, he crafted the National
Labor Relations Act of 1935 and did much to secure passage of Social
Security. He was a delegate to the Bretton Woods Conference of 1944,
which shaped the postwar international economic order. His son, Robert F.
Wagner, Jr., was Mayor of New York from 1954 to 1961. Toned and lightly
soiled. Paper clip impression at top edge. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso.
