Publicity photo from The Black Marble (1980), directed by Harold Becker and based on the novel by Joseph Wambaugh, who also wrote the screenplay. Foxworth had the male lead as a Russian detective. Initially a stage actor, Robert Foxworth, born in 1941, won a World Theatre award for his performance in The Crucible (1970). He starred in the long running prime time drama Falcon Crest (1981-1987); series of shorter duration included Babylon-5 (1994-1995) and Late Line (1998-1999). He was the voice of Rex Bannon in the popular animated adventure Johnny Quest (1997). Starring film roles have included Prophecy (1979) and Beyond the Stars (1989) and TV's The Questor Tapes (1974). He continues to act and do voiceover work; recent roles include guest appearances on The West Wing and Boston Legal and as the voice of Professor Emil Hamilton on TV's Justice League and the voice of Ratchett in Transformers (2007). Foxworth was married to actress Elizabeth Montgomery from 1993 until her death in May 1995, although the couple lived together for nearly 20 years.
