Commemorative sheet with first day cancellation signed: "Robert Hofstadter", 3p, 8½x11. In pamphlet form, the first (cover) page is titled: "Treaty on the/Non-Proliferation of/Nuclear Weapons", 10-cent U.S. Peace on Earth stamp affixed, postmarked New York, November 15, 1974, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE and 13-cent U.N. Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy stamp affixed, postmarked United Nations, November 18, 1977, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. The second and third pages inside reproduce the treaty complete with facsimile signatures of the American, British and Soviet signers. Robert Hofstadter (1915-1990) won the 1961 Nobel Prize in Physics "for his pioneering studies of electron scattering in atomic nuclei and for his thereby achieved discoveries concerning the structure of the nucleons". Lightly creased, slightly soiled. Otherwise, fine condition.
