ROBERT L. "BOB" MILLER
The baseball swingman signed this black and white 3½x5½ headshot with him in a Los Angeles Dodgers uniform
Photograph Signed: "Best wishes / Bob Miller" in blue ink. 3½x5½. B/w. Miller spent five seasons with the Dodgers from 1963-1967. Robert "Bob" Miller (1939-1993) was unique among pitchers in that he regularly pitched from the bullpen and as a starter for much of his career. From 1959-1970, he started at least one game in every season except for 1966 and 1968. In 1963 with the Dodgers, he made 23 starts and 19 bullpen appearances with an ERA of just 2.89. For the last five seasons of his career (1971-1974), he pitched exclusively from the bullpen. He's one of only a few dozen players to play for at least 10 teams. Miller won the World Series twice, once with the Dodgers (1965) and once with the San Diego Padres (1971). Over his 18-season playing career, he maintained an outstanding 3.37 ERA and 1.231 WHIP. He went on to a coaching and managing career with the expansion Toronto Blue Jays (1977), the San Francisco Giants (1985), and a few minor league teams. Edges lightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
