right). Robert Leith "Dinny" Hanbidge (1891-1974) was the Lieutenant Governor
of Saskatchewan from 1963-1970. A Canadian lawyer and former rugby player,
he was elected Mayor of Kerrobert, Saskatchewan in 1920. In 1929,
Hanbidge was elected as a Conservative to the Legislative Assembly of
Saskatchewan, serving as Chief Whip under the government of Premier
James Thomas Milton Anderson. After making an unsuccessful attempt for a seat in
the Canadian House of Commons as a Progressive Conservative candidate in
1945, he was finally elected to that body in 1958 and re-elected in 1962. Minor
