The director is shown during filming of Independence Day
Photograph signed: "Robert Mandel". B/w, 10x8. Captioned image of the director during the filming of Independence Day (1983). Film director Robert Mandel won the Alfred Hitchcock award and some festival awards for his first film, A Night at O'Rear's, his thesis project for the AFI Conservatory. Independence Day, starring Kathleen Quinlan and David Keith, not to be confused with the alien invasion film of that name, was his second movie. His subsequent films include F/X (1986), The Substitute (1996) and A Season on the Brink (2002). His TV directing has included episodes of Nash Bridges and Lost. Mandel is Dean of the American Film Institute Conservatory, the first alumnus to hold that title. Fine condition.
