Robert Mitchum signs a color 27x41 poster advertising the movie Track of the Cat.
Poster signed: "Robert Mitchum". Color, 27x41. Track of the Cat movie poster. Copyright 1954 Warner Bros. Pictures Distributing Corp. In this experimental 1954 Western, Director William Wellman uses black-and-white backgrounds with occasional color on certain characters' bodies and clothes. A black panther has been killing cattle on a family ranch. While Curt Bridges (ROBERT MITCHUM) and his brother Arthur set out to kill the panther, the cat kills Arthur and the family blames Curt, who then sets out to kill the beast. Mitchum (1917-1997) played mostly villains early in his film career, including Out of the Past (1947) and Cape Fear (1962). In 1945, he starred in The Story of G.I. Joe and earned his first and only Oscar nomination. He also portrayed detective Phillip Marlowe in Farewell My Lovely (1975) and The Big Sleep (1978), and starred in the TV miniseries The Winds of War (1983) and its sequel, War and Remembrance (1989). Folds, vertical fold touches "R". Lightly creased. Minor stains. Lightly soiled. Staple holes at blank corners. 1-inch vertical tear at upper blank margin (all intact) Overall, fine condition.
