JOHN MORSE
John Morse signs a laser disc cover for his movie How To Succeed in
Business Without Really Trying.
Laser Disc cover signed: "John Morse/[drawn smiley face]",
12¼x12¼. Born in 1931, ROBERT MORSE made his film debut in 1956's
Proud and the Profane. He was more successful on Broadway, co-starring in
the musicals Say Darling and Take Me Along. In Frank Loesser's
1961 Pulitzer Prize-winning How to Succeed in Business Without Really
Trying, Morse entered Broadway Valhalla when he sang the show's big hit, "I
Believe in You" (which he sang to himself, gazing into the mirror). He won a
Tony award for his performance, and reprised the role for the film version.
He went on to star in another long-running Broadway effort, Sugar. In
1990, Morse returned to Broadway (and won another Tony in the bargain) for his
one-man Truman Capote show, Tru. Lightly worn at corners. Fine
condition.
