Lowe signed this contract in order to appear as a principal performer on an episode of The Tonight Show With Jay Leno that night. He was to be paid $611 plus 10 percent. In 2001, Lowe appeared as Sam Seaborn on the TV series The West Wing, in the TV movie Jane Doe and with a starring role in the movie Proximity. An original member of Hollywood's 1980's "Brat Pack", Lowe (born in 1964) first gained attention for the 1985 film St. Elmo's Fire. His subsequent films have included Square Dance (1997, nominated for a Golden Globe), Wayne's World (1992), Tommy Boy (1995) and the three Austin Powers films (1997, 1999, 2002). He is best known to television audiences for his role as Sam Seaborn (1999-2003) on The West Wing. Nominated for a Golden Globe for the role, Lowe starred in two short-lived series The Lyon's Den (2003-2004) and Dr. Vegas (2004-2005) after leaving the successful show. Rob, the older brother of actor Chad Lowe, has also appeared in TV miniseries and movies, including The Christmas Shoes (2002), and has been a frequent guest on talk shows. Lightly creased.
