(folded). Stephenson (1803-1859, born in Willington Quay, Northumberland,
England) was a British engineer. The only son of George Stephenson, he helped
his father build the first successful steam locomotive, the Rocket, in
1829. After helping his father build more locomotives and survey the
Stockton and Darlington and the Liverpool and Manchester Railways, he turned his
attention to larger civic engineering jobs, including building the Britannia
Bridge over the Mensai Strait, between Wales and the Isle of Anglesey, between
1846 and 1849. Lightly toned, soiled and creased. Comes folded. Adhesive
inside fold; no show-through. Otherwise in fine condition.
