U.N.C.L.E. inscribes his signature to a fan
Inscribed Signature: "to/ Susan/ Robert/ Vaughn" 4½x6¾ sheet. Imprinted in low relief with an
image of an angel with flowers. Robert Vaughn (1932-2016) received a Best Supporting
Actor Oscar nomination for his performance in The Young Philadelphians (1959) and
was one of the leads in The Magnificent Seven the following year (1960). However, his
most famous screen role was that of Napoleon Solo in the TV spy series The Man from
U.N.C.L.E. (1964-1968). In subsequent years, Vaughn was often cast as a bad guy in films
such as Bullitt (1968), Brass Target (1978), and Superman III (1982). Vaughn holds a Ph.D.
in Communications from USC, having written his dissertation on blacklisting in Hollywood.
His work was published in 1972: Only Victims: A Study of Showbusiness Blacklisting. Fine
condition.
