B/w, 4¾x8. Robert William "Bob" Straub (1920-2002) was the Democratic
Governor of Oregon from 1975-1979. The former owner of a construction
firm, Straub had begun his political career on the Lane County Board of
Commissioners in 1954. He later represented Lane County in the Oregon
State Senate (1959-1963) before serving two terms as Oregon's State
Treasurer (1965-1973). Following his defeat for re-election to the
governorship in 1978, Straub operated farms and a ranch in Wyoming before
succumbing to Alzheimer's disease in 2002 at the age of 82. Minor surface
creases and impressions (most not evident head on), impressions at forehead.
