ROBERT YOUNG - JACKET UNSIGNED - HFSID 282751
Sale Price $658.75
Screen-worn sport coat, purchased by Young to be worn by him as Marcus Welby
Jacket unsigned. Brown sport coat owned by Young and worn by him on a TV production, presumably Marcus Welby, M.D., a Holiday Affair (1988). Producers allowed Young to purchase his own wardrobe and reimbursed him later, a method he preferred. The coat has a tailor's label in the right inner pocket bearing Young's name and the date "1-15-88". Perhaps best known as Jim Anderson on Father Knows Best (television, 1954-1960; radio 1949-1954) and the title practitioner on television's Marcus Welby, M.D. (1969-1976), Young (1907-1998) also appeared in over 100 films. In some screen roles, such as the cold-blooded spy in Hitchcock's Secret Agent (1936) and the no-good philanderer in They Won't Believe Me (1947), Young showed an acting range far wider than his likeable and wholesome TV characters. Small but noticeable hole in the collar. Otherwise, fine condition.
