Roberta Peters(1930-2017) made an acclaimed debut at the Metropolitan Opera in 1950, as a last-minute substitute in Mozart's Don Giovanni. She performed as a Met regular for a record-setting 35 years. Popular with the general public, she also made a record-setting 65 appearances on TV's Ed Sullivan Show, performing Broadway tunes and other popular as well as operatic numbers. Among her many awards have been the Bolshoi Medal, the Jewish Cultural Achievement Award, and New York City's Handel Medallion. Frayed on left edge from binding. Toned. Fine condition.
