GIANT AUTOGRAPHED PHOTOGRAPH OF DURAN IN THE RING WITH SUGAR RAY LEONARD, HIS ADVERSARY FOR THE WBC WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP IN 1980

ROBERTO DURAN.
Large Photograph signed: "Roberto/Duran". Color, 20x16. Depicted in the ring with Sugar Ray Leonard. The two boxers faced off three times, first on June 20, 1980, when Duran was awarded a 15-round decision to win the WBC Welterweight championship. Just five months later, on November 25, 1980, Duran lost the title to Sugar Ray by a TKO in the eight round, stopping the fight by saying "no mas" (no more"). The two met again on December 7, 1989, when Duran lost a 12-round decision. That year, on February 24, Duran had defeated Iran Barkley in a 12-round split decision to win the WBC Middleweight Championship. One of only four boxers to hold four different world titles (lightweight, 1972-1979; welterweight, 1980; junior middleweight, 1983; middleweight, 1989-1990), Roberto Duran, born in Panama in 1951, who began his career in 1967, retired in 2002, at age 50, with a 104-16 record and 69 KOs. Minor surface creases and smudges (not evident head on). Fine condition.
