GIANT AUTOGRAPHED PHOTOGRAPH OF DURAN MEETING MARVELOUS MARVIN HAGLER IN LAS VEGAS FOR THE WORLD MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP IN 1983

ROBERTO DURAN.
Large Photograph signed: "Roberto/Duran". Color, 20x16. Depicted in the ring with Marvelous Marvin Hagler in the November 10, 1983 title fight in Las Vegas for the World Middleweight crown. Despite losing in the match, which went the full fifteen rounds, Duran had been the first fighter to go the full distance against Hagler in his title defenses. In 1983, Duran also knocked out Pipino Cuevas in the fourth round (January 29), and he knocked out Davey More in the eight round on June 16 to win the WBA Junior Middleweight Championship. One of only four boxers to hold four different world titles (lightweight, 1972-1979; welterweight, 1980; junior middleweight, 1983; middleweight, 1989-1990), Roberto Duran, born in Panama in 1951, who began his career in 1967, is especially remembered for quitting in the eighth round of his November 25, 1980 rematch with Sugar Ray Leonard, saying "no mas" ("no more"). He had won a 15-round decision over Leonard on June 20, 1980. Duran retired in 2002, at age 50, with a 104-16 record and 69 KOs. Image slightly grainy. Minor surface creases (not evident head on). Fine condition.
