6½x5¼ album leaf. British actor ROBERTSON HARE (1891-1979) was born in London,
England. He appeared on stage and in films for over fifty years, but is well remembered
for his role as The Archdeacon, The Venerable Henry Blunt in the television series All
Gas and Gaiters (1966-1971). His films credits include Turkey Time (1933), A Cup of
Kindness (1934), Banana Ridge (1942), My Wife's Family (1956) and Salt and Pepper
(1968). George Spence "G. S." Melvin was a Scottish pantomime dame and comedian.
His song "I'm Happy When I'm Hiking" became a hikers' anthem in the 1930s. He
drowned in the River Thames while performing at the Drury Lane Theatre. Right edge frayed
