ROBIN HOOD (DISNEY VERSION): PHIL HARRIS and BRIAN BEDFORD
Both sign a typescript from the 1973 animated film.
Typescript signed: "Phil Harris", "Brian Bedford", 1 page, 8½x11. Titled "Excerpt from Robin Hood," it is a dialogue from the animated Walt Disney film featuring lines by Phil Harris (as Friar Tuck) and Brian Bedford (as Robin Hood). Robin Hood (1973) was the first Disney animated feature film after the death of founder Walt Disney. It featured the story's familiar characters shown as appropriate animals. BRIAN BEDFORD (1935-2016) was the voice of Robin Hood, seen as a wily fox; PHIL HARRIS voiced Friar Tuck, shown as a burly bear. Comedian and bandleader Phil Harris (1904-1995), a regular on Jack Benny's radio show (1936-1946), popularized the song "That's What I Like About the South". Married to actress Alice Faye from 1941 until his death, he co-starred with her on another radio show (1948-1954), episodes of which show up frequently on radio tape and CD collections. Englishman Brian Bedford (b. 1935), primarily a stage actor, was nominated for 5 Tony awards, winning one in 1971 for The School for Wives. He was nominated for 6 Drama Desk awards, winning in 1992 for Two Shakespearean Actors. He played Mr. Fizziwig in TV's Christmas Carol: a Musical (2004). Fine condition.
