place, 1984 August 17. On personal letterhead. In full:
Graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, where I taught later as
Professor for four years. Associate Director Madenbrook Theatre, Detroit USA
1967. First London stage appearance 1960 in Tony Richardson's production of 'The
Changeling' at the Royal Theatre. Latest 'Tomfoolery' (which he also advises)
Criterion Theatre 1980. Over 750 TV and radio programmes for the BBC as
writer/presentor. Latest air appearance 'Film Buff of the Year' (as advisor and
charman). Books include 'Time For Lovers', "Robin Ray's Musix Quiz', "Favorite
Hymns and Carols" and "Words on Music (pub. 1984, Methuen). Reviewer of
classical recordings for London's Capital Radio for last 6 years. Also director
and composer of incidental music for theme. Married Susan Stranks 1960, one
sone, live in Brighton, Sussex, England." In addition to the accomplishments
he lists here, Robin Ray, who died in 1998, wrote a play, "Café Puccini"
(1980). He was best known, however for his roles as panelist and host on British
music quiz shows and as a reviewer of classical music. He was the son of
comedian Ted Ray. Lightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
