in 1977/353 Stolen Bases". Fine condition. Accompanied by a limited
edition Rod Carew baseball card, also numbered 0057/1000, certifying that
the Baseball Hall of Famer hand wrote all his statistics on this numbered,
limited edition baseball. Fine condition. Rod Carew (born in 1945) starred with
the Minnesota Twins (1967-1978) and California Angels (1979-1985), a second
baseman who moved to first base late in his career. Rookie of the Year in
1967, Carew led the league in hitting seven times (1969, 1972-1975, 1977-1978),
was elected to the All-Star team in 17 of his 19 years, and hit over .300 for
fifteen consecutive seasons. In 1977, his league-leading .388 batting
average was the best in the major leagues by 50 points! He was also a fine base
runner and base stealer. In 1985, he became only the sixteenth major leaguer to
reach 3,000 hits. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1991.
