ROD STEIGER. Lobby Card signed: "Thank you/Rod Steiger". B/w, 14x11. Still from the 1968 film, No Way to Treat a Lady. ©1968, Sol C. Siegel Pictures, Inc. and Paramount Pictures Corporation. Captioned at lower margin. No Way to Treat a Lady starred Rod Steiger as theatre manager/serial killer Christopher Gill, who preys upon lonely, middle aged women, donning outlandish disguises to win his victims' trust. Gill is pursued by New York City Detective Moe Brummell, played by George Segal, whom Gill engages in a cat-and-mouse game. In this scene, Gill draws his trademark lipstick kiss on his victim's forehead. Rod Steiger (1925-2002) was awarded the 1967 Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of a well-meaning but prejudiced Southern sheriff in In the Heat of the Night. He also received Oscar nominations in 1954 (Best Supporting Actor, On the Waterfront) and 1965 (Best Actor, The Pawnbroker). From 1959-1969, he was married to actress Claire Bloom. They co-starred in the 1969 films, Three Into Two Won't Go and The Illustrated Man. Steiger's other film credits include Oklahoma! (1955), The Longest Day (1962), Doctor Zhivago (1965), Lucky Luciano (1974), W.C. Fields and Me (1976), The Amityville Horror (1979), American Gothic (1987), The Player (1992) and Mars Attacks! (1996). Lightly creased at upper left background, light stain at lower right corner. Overall, fine condition.
