ROD TAYLORThe actor signed this contract with CBS to appear on Playhouse 90. Document signed: "Rod Taylor", 1p, 8½x11. Also initialed "R. T." on rider (8½x2¼) affixed to center of page. Hollywood, California, June 11, 1958. Taylor is hired to appear on the CBS television program Playhouse 90 on June 26, 1958, with reasonable time and hours for rehearsal in Los Angeles as determined by the producer. Taylor will be paid $1,750 for his performance. The rider stipulates that Taylor is to be billed in no less than the second position, following the words "also starring." Rod Taylor (1930-2015) made his film debut in the Australian film The Stuart Exposition (1951) and his Hollywood debut in The Virgin Queen (1955). His long list of feature films includes Giant (1956), Separate Tables (1958), The Time Machine (1960), and The Birds and A Gathering of Eagles (both 1963). Taylor also appeared in a number of television movies and several series, including Hong Kong (1961), The Oregon Trail (1975), and Outlaws (1986). He starred in the Australian comedy Welcome to Woop Woop (1997), and, in his final screen role, played Winston Churchill in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds (2009). Staple holes in upper left corner. Binder holes at top have broken through to upper edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
