A 14x11 lobby card for the 1951 film, signed by its primary stars
Inscribed Lobby Card signed: "To Clint,/ Best Wishes/ Mary Ellen Kay", "Buddy Esben", "Rex Allen", in various inks, colorized, 14x11. "The Arizona Cowboy", singer and actor REX ALLEN (1920-1999), appeared on stage, rodeo and radio (National Barn Dance) before beginning his film career. In a span of five years (1949-1954) he made over 20 Westerns, many featuring sidekick Slim Pickens and Allen's horse Ko Ko (billed as "the Miracle Horse of the Movies"). Allen starred in TV's Frontier Doctor (1956), and was the narrator in many Disney films, including The Incredible Journey (1963) and Charlotte's Web (1973). Originally a dancer, BUDDY EBSEN (1908-2003) performer as one in many films of the 1930s. Later a sidekick to Western heroes Rex Allen and Fess Parker, he also played serious character roles, as in Night People (1955). His greatest success came on TV, however, where he starred in two popular series, The Beverly Hillbillies (1962-1971) and Barnaby Jones (1973-1980). Actress MARY ELLEN KAY (b. 1929) acted primarily through the 1950s and 1960s, appearing in a long list of Westerns, including Streets of Ghost Town (1950), Silver City Bonanza (1951), and Border Saddlemates (1952). Kay also had a recurring role on the 1950s series The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show as Joan Jansen. She retired from acting in 1966, making her last acting appearance in an episode of This is the Life. Corners worn and creased. Light surface creases. Bottom right edge worn.
