Babson (1875-1967), who began his business career with a Boston investment firm, had founded Babson's Statistical Organization, later called Babson's Reports, with an initial investment of $1,200 in 1904. As a pioneering business in the financial services industry, the firm realized millions of dollars in annual revenues in its first decade. Babson also shared his expertise through columns in such publications as the "Saturday Evening Post" and "The New York Times", eventually forming his own syndicate, the Publishers Financial Bureau. In 1919, Babson founded a business school, The Babson Institute, which became Babson College, a prestigious institution emphasizing entrepreneurship, in 1969.Shaded at edges, especially left side, touching "R" in signature.
