Baseball signed: "Roger Clemens/4-29-86/20 K's". Rawlings official American League ball, Bobby Brown President. On April 29, 1986, Roger Clemens struck out 20 Seattle Mariners in a game at Boston's Fenway Park, setting a new record. (Tom Cheney of the Washington Senators had fanned 21 in 1962, but it took him 16 innings to do it.) Ten years later, on September 18, 1996, Clemens did it again in the same ballpark, striking out twenty Tigers. Two pitchers have since tied Clemens' mark (Kerry Wood in 1998, Randy Johnson in 2001). Nobody has surpassed it. Clemens gave up not a single walk in either 20-K performance. There is only one question about 7-time Cy Young winner Clemens' future in the Hall of Fame: what team's uniform will be featured in his display? Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
