Contract signed: "Romney Brent", 1 page (front and verso), 8½x11. New York City, New York, 1947 April 16. The actor signs a contract with The Theatre Guild, Inc. Radio Division agreeing to perform in a radio version of the play Escape for a sum of $200.00. Stage actor and director Romney Brent (1902-1976) was born in Saltillo, Mexico. He began acting on Broadway in 1922 at the age of 20 and continued to work performing, producing and directing plays on Broadway until 1954. He appeared in George Bernard Shaw's Androcles and the Lion (1925-1926), Getting Married (1931) and he directed Shaw's The Simpleton and Unexpected Tales (1935). One of his biggest Broadway successes was in the musical performance The Little Show (1929-1930). Brent also spent several years performing in London. From the 1930's to the 1960's he appeared in several American television shows and films including East Meets West (1936) Dinner at the Ritz (1937) and Adventures of Don Juan (1948) and Zorro (1957-1958).
