RON HOWARD and CLINT HOWARD
A photograph signed by the two brothers, with Ron signing "All the
best" to a fan
Inscribed photograph signed: "Take it easy/Clint Howard", "For
Dick/All the best-/Ron Howard", Sepia 8x10. CLINT HOWARD (b. 1959)
made his (uncredited) film debut as a child actor in The Courtship of Eddie's
Father with his father Rance Howard and brother Ron. In adddition to
several films directed by his brother, Clint has also been seen in many
others, including Tango & Cash (1989), Austin Powers: The Spy Who
Shagged Me (1999), Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002) and The Cat
in the Hat (2003). He lent his voice talents to animated films, including
Curious George (2006) and "Roo" in several Winnie the Pooh
films. He also starred on a number of TV series, including Gentle
Ben (1967-1969), which also featured his father, and in several TV
movies. He directed, produced and starred on The Clint Howard Variety
Show (2002) and made many guest appearances. Professionally, RON HOWARD (b. 1954)
has come a long way from the tousle-haired, barefoot sheriff's son who trod
the byways of idyllic Mayberry (it was as the mischievous but guileless Opie
that Howard became famous) to reside in the heady company of Hollywood's
most elite directors. His films are pure entertainment; they are well-crafted
efforts, frequently technically challenging from a production standpoint, and
aimed at mainstream audiences. Howard has a reputation as one of the most
versatile and gifted director's of his generation. Some of the highlights of
his directorial efforts include Splash (1984), Cocoon (1985),
Apollo 13 (1995), Ransom (1996), How the Grinch Stole
Christmas (2000) and A Beautiful Mind (2001 - Oscars for Best
Picture, Best Actress, Best Screenplay and, of course, Best Director).
