lower left. American painter and illustrator Ron Lesser has designed
dramatic, realistic covers for Western novels (by Louis L'Amour and others),
romances, and military magazines. He has twice won the Best Movie Art of the
Year award (having plied his craft for High Plains Drifter, Paint
Your Wagon and The Way West among others). He has won several gold
medals from the Society of Illustrators, and has created an impressive body
of Civil War Art. From the estate of Charles Martignette (1950-2008), a
noted authority on American illustrative art whose collection merited a special
exhibit at the Smithsonian. Edges and corners lightly worn. Fine
condition.
