RON OESTER
The second baseman who played for the Reds pens his name on this black and white
photo
Inscribed Printed Photograph signed in Ink: “David,/ Best of Luck,/ Ray Oester”. B/w, 8x10.
Ron Oester (b.1956) played at second base, spending his entire career with the Cincinnati
Reds (1978-1990). He helped defeat the Oakland A's to win the 1990 World Series,
mostly pinch hitting during the Series, and rather impressively posting a batting average of
.500 in the postseason. Interestingly, Oester chose not to wear batting gloves, and as a
result was constantly developing blisters that eventually became deep wounds. Fine
condition.
