RONNIE MILSAP. Photograph signed: "Ronnie Milsap". Color, 8½x11. Captioned at lower right margin. Born blind, Ronnie Milsap attended the Governor Moorhead School for the Blind, where his musical talents were discovered at the age of seven. He quickly became a violin virtuoso and was equally adept on the piano, guitar, other stringed instruments and woodwinds. After starting his first rock band, Apparations, while still in school, Milsap had his first professional gig with J.J. Cale's band in the early 1960s. In 1969, four years after forming his own band, Milsap had his first hit with "Never Had It So Good". He then moved to Memphis, where he became a studio musician and had a pop hit with "Loving You is a Natural Thing" (1970). In 1973, Milsap headed to Nashville to jumpstart his career, releasing his first Top 10 hit, "I Hate You" that year. From that point on, the hits kept coming, with Milsap becoming a bona fide star in 1976 with six hits in a row. He would not be absent from the Top 10 for a remarkable 15 years, racking up 35 No. 1 hits, including "Smoky Mountain Rain", "No Gettin' Over Me" and "Any Day Now". Although his commercial appeal diminished somewhat in the 1990s, he continued to record and was a popular concert performer. Slightly worn at edges and creased at corners. Fine condition.
