RONNIE RONALDE
Extremely rare signature from the 1950's British whistler and
yodeler
Signature: "Ronnie Ronalde", in blue ink, 6¼x5¼. British music
hall performer Ronnie Ronalde (b. 1923) has become famous for his
whistling and yodeling, using both skills to carry a 50 plus year career.
Ronalde began singing and performing at age 15, originally joining a young
men's choir where he proved so popular with the choir master that he disbanded
the group and instead became Ronalde's manager and mentor. They began
touring around the world together, with Ronalde striking out on his own in
the 1950's. This proved to be the most popular time of his career, resulting
in record deals, headlining tours, and his own radio show. By the 1980's,
Ronalde's career had begun to die down, and in most recent years he hasn't
toured. However, he still makes the occasional performance, last performing
in 2012 for a charity event, receiving a standing ovation at the end. Right
edge frayed and torn. Paper fragment son right edge. Light surface creases.
Otherwise, fine condition.
