Check no. 292 for $20 drawn on the Calhouns' joint account at the Beverly Hills main office of Bank of America, Beverly Hills, California. Made payable to Dr. Calvin C. J. Sia. RORY CALHOUN (1922-1999) was an American actor who is remembered mostly for his work in Westerns and action pictures. He acted in a wide variety of movies, portraying eligible bachelors in modern-day comedies like How to Marry a Millionaire (1953) and Ain't Misbehavin' (1955), as well as venturing into period fare for The Colossus of Rhodes (1961) and the title role in Marco Polo(1962). He solidified his Western standing as star of the television series, The Texan (1958-1960). LITA BARON CALHOUN (b. 1929 as Isabel Beth Castro) is an actress who is known for the films Champagne for Two (1947), Samba-Mania (1948), and Jungle Jim (1948). She was married to actor Rory Calhoun from 1948 to 1970, but she filed for divorce due to his multiple infidelities. Lightly soiled and creased. Show-through from bank stamps on verso affecting signatures and handwriting. Normal cancellation holes, which touch handwriting and Rory's signature. Folded once and unfolded. Otherwise, fine condition.
