Philatelic Envelope signed: "Rosalyn S Yalow", 6½x3½. First Day Cover for the Endangered
Flora series, 15-cent Antioch Dunes Evening Primrose stamp affixed, postmarked
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, June 7, 1979, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Rosalyn Sussman Yalow
(1921-2011) won the 1977 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine "for the development of
radioimmunoassays of peptide hormones". Working at the Veterans Administration Hospital
in the Bronx, New York at the time, she had married Aaron Yalow, a graduate student in
Physics, in 1943 and had two children during her career. Pencil notes (unknown hand) at
upper and lower left margins, typed address at lower left. Fine condition.
