Rosemary Lane, born Rosemary Mullican (1914-1974) sang and acted with her
sisters Priscilla and Lola as The Lane Sisters in the 1930s and forties.
Rosemary and Priscilla were featured on band leader Fred Waring's radio show for
five years, with Rosemary singing the ballads and Priscilla specializing in
swing numbers and wisecracks. Signing a Warner Bros. contract, they were joined
by sister Lola and by Gale Page (a fourth real sister having failed her screen
tests) to make a series of films: Four Sisters, Four Wives and
Four Mothers, from 1938 to 1940. Rosemary appeared in 20 films
between 1937 and 1945. Her husband was studio makeup wizard Bud Westmore.
Saul Goodman (1919-2003), a New York business man by day, pursued his
love of film and theatre in the evening, making friends with many celebrities.
While other autograph seekers offered album leaves, Goodman presented stars
with snazzy photographs, a rarity then, to sign in fountain pen. Lightly
creased. Light surface impressions (not visible head on). Pencil note (unknown
hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
