Handwritten, signed letter from the Chicago Cardinals football
player, saying that he unfortunately has no pictures to send to the recipient as
they have all disappeared. Extremely rare!
Autograph letter signed: "Ross Carter", in black ink, 5x8.
In part: "Dear Ron: You are reaching back in history as I am now 85
years old. I was born in Republic, Missouri which is about 15 miles South of
Springfield. I wish I had a picture to send you, but they all disappeared".
American football player Ross Carter (1914-2002) played for the
Chicago Cardinals from 1936 to 1939, appearing in 42 games,
starting 30 of them. He was inducted into the University of Oregon Athletics
Hall of Fame in 1995. Normal mailing folds. Light surface creases. Top edge worn
and chipped. Minute tear to upper left edge. Corners slightly worn. Otherwise,
fine condition.
