ROSS MARTIN The actor signed and endorsed this check for $150 in 1977 Check signed and endorsed: "Ross Martin" in blue ink, 8¼x3½. Dec. 10, 1977. Check no. 8223, drawn on Ross and Olavee Martin's business account c/o Alexander Tucker at the head office of City National Bank in Beverly Hills, California. Made payable to Sara Rosenblatt for $150. Polish-born Ross Martin (1920-1981) received an M.A. in psychometrics and a law degree before forming half of a comedy team known as Ross & West. In the 1950s, he became a regular on charades-like game shows, where he had the chance to show off his sharp mind and acting skills. He finally found his niche as TV's "man of a thousand faces" - Secret Service agent Artemus Gordon - on the humorous cult spy spoof/western/science fiction series The Wild, Wild West (1965-1969). The show gave him an opportunity to display his virtuosity, as he used multiple disguises and accents in almost every episode. Lightly toned and creased. Normal bank stamps, which touch signature and endorsement. Light tears at top and bottom edges. Folded once and unfolded. Otherwise, fine condition.
