DICK MARTIN
Black and white publicity photograph of Dick Martin in a tuxedo signed to a fan.
Photograph inscribed and signed: "To William/Good Luck/Dick Martin/'96". B/w, 8x10. Photograph by Harry Langdon Photography. In 1996, the year he signed this photograph, Martin guest starred on an episode of the TV comedy, 3rd Rock from the Sun, and he was seen in archive footage on the TV special, Classic Stand-Up Comedy of Television. Comedian and actor Dick Martin (1922-2008) is best known as the zany co-host (with Dan Rowan) of Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In (1968-1973), the wildly popular show that featured such performers as Ruth Buzzi, Goldie Hawn, Arte Johnson, Lily Tomlin and JoAnne Worley. The two, who had teamed up in 1958 for their debut film, Once Upon a Horse, had previously hosted The Dean Martin Summer Show (1966-1967) and would appear together in the 1969 film, The Maltese Bippy. A frequent TV guest star in the 1970s, with several appearances on The Bob Newhart Show, Martin guest starred on a number of other TV series. He was last seen on the big screen in Bartleby (2001). Slightly creased at upper right margin and background. Minor surface crease (not evident head on) at hair. Fine condition.
