Addressed to a collector in Alabama. Roy Arthur Taylor (1910-1995) was a Democratic
congressman from North Carolina who served in the U.S. House from 1960 to 1977. In
1929, Taylor graduated from Asheville-Biltmore College. He then attended Maryville College
and graduated in 1931. Taylor earned his J.D. from Asheville University Law School and
soon after began practicing law in North Carolina. From 1943-1946, he served in the
United States Navy. Taylor served in the North Carolina general assembly (1947-1949,
1951-1953). In order to fill a vacancy, Taylor was elected to the 86th Congress and to the
eight succeeding Congresses. Lightly toned. Staining near top left corner of verso. Pinhole
indentations on verso (no show-through). Otherwise, fine condition.
